Articles > Detox Programs For Health

The available procedures for detoxification have to be targeted at the specific causes. However, there are some general guidelines when going through the detox program. There are two components of the detox program:

- General measures: certain aspects of the detox programs apply to every patient no matter what the specific issue is.
- Specific measures: Organic mercury needs a specific agents for detox that are different from those needed for metallic mercury. However, both benefit from colonics, sauna therapy, and chlorella.

General detox programs:
- IV vitamin C
- Sauna therapy/ozone therapy
- Colonics
- Psychological approaches:
- Psychotherapy and energy psychology
- Emotional freedom technique / EFT
- Family constellation work
- Balancing the ANS
- Acupuncture
- Neuraltherapy
- Skasys
- EEG biofeedback
- Balancing the biochemistry through:
- Supplementation - Herbs
- Homeopathy
- IV nutrients
- Manual chiropractic manipulation
- Lymph drainage/massage

Specific detox programs:
- Drug and medication withdrawal
- Heavy metal detox
- Chronic neurotoxin
- Detox programs specific to specific agents (herbicides, wood preservatives, fungal toxins, aluminum, etc.)
- Infections e.g. Lyme disease, Babesia
- Chronic illnesses ? cancer, autoimmune diseases

When going through the detox program, one needs to be aware the following:

Drug addiction/Withdrawal:
- Most laypeople are aware of alcohol dependence. After consuming alcohol on a regular basis, the body?s organism adapts to the presence of alcohol and its metabolites. Many aspects of the patient?s biochemistry changes. The system can no longer function without alcohol. Withdrawal from alcohol has to be gradual or it can have very severe possibly lethal side-effects. The same is true for all of the other medical drugs to varying degrees.
- Patients that get off ant-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) or opioids often experience rebound symptoms and worsening of their symptoms and so on. Medical drugs very often interfere with the responsiveness of the patient to natural therapies. To come off medical drugs the patient needs to be aided with a specific supportive regimen. Patients even get withdrawal symptoms when they detox from mercury, lyme disease or paint fumes. The withdrawal symptoms often look like the very symptom that the patient has from the toxin. During drug withdrawal, the patient often experiences an exacerbation of the existing symptoms.
- Psychological factors: We have found that for each unresolved psycho-emotional issue, the patient will store an equivalent of toxic substances in the body. These can not be released unless the psycho-emotional factors are addressed at the same time. Vice-versa, often patients undergoing psychotherapy spontaneously eliminate toxins from their tissues. Detox reactions are often mistaken as untoward effects from the psychotherapy. Psychotherapy should always be accompanied with a detox program.
